  2. So simple and so full. This would be an excellent example when teaching young students (well, of any age) how form influences words and feelings.

    1. that would be so dreamy to find that a poem i wrote was being used in a class.

    2. actually it happened in high school, the semester after i took the (amazing) poetry class, at least one of my poems (i think maybe more than one) made it into the readings for the next class —— the teacher always included former students' work right there next to the famous and obscure adult poets, but very selectively, not random; & the teacher was not an effusive person/teacher, so it was a thrill to get this indication that she really liked what i wrote

    3. oh man i'm reminiscing about that great class again. i was so lucky to have an introduction to poetry that wasn't about having to learn forms and archaic language and figure out the meaning, because there was supposedly right answers and right ways, like math — but instead let us in on the real reality that it's as serious and joyous and confused and horny and sad as any feelings and that forms are vessels on which to go out and discover more of this beautiful stuff
