Conduit

Drunk and tumbly
From the back of a car,
I lowered my voice
To let shiny dark pebbles sweep
From my throat to the ears of a new stranger.
Would you like to
Meet at a bar,
Talk about the way
Your sister touched you
And the way my brother
Left me in the basement,
Listen to passionate karaoke
And then kiss on the boulevard?
Your hands swirling under
My sweater while I
Glow in your mouth?
Then we can drive to our separate homes,
Imagine each other alive
And bright in the same bed
And never speak again.
