January mosquito
January honeysuckle
walk by last year’s rental
soggy artichoke stalks
slumped in wet wood chips
across the street
January honeysuckle
walk by last year’s rental
soggy artichoke stalks
slumped in wet wood chips
across the street
the last family holding on
has been evicted
skinny matriarch no longer
screeching at her brother
shooing grown kids
back to their sedans
fuzzy toddlers staring out
like puppies
how safe is this ivy grove
beer cans and a bungee chord
the darker the denser the grove
the better the hovel
tangled emerald cradle
rich neighborhoods
the sketchiest
with their prop candles
in each window
sinister signage
staked next to
chrome Buddha
and no gate to mark

I would like to read a whole book of your daily neighborhood walk poems.
